Homeroom teacher and Counselor

Last thursday morning, I visited in Pyle Middle School to join "Meet the counselor" Breakfast. Every students has one counselor who take care of or give some advice to something happened in School and cademic processs,like changing class. The function of counseling is almost same as the homeroom teacher in Korea except the
counselor does not teach at all. Of cause the schools have homeroom system but it is just convenience division by oreder of Last name. The students could get their report card from homeroom teachers,but nothing else related the homeroom teacher. 
In korea, there do exists counselor system, but it work little. I somestimes think it is better idea to have effective counselor system  along with homeroom teacher. it would lessen homeroom teachers' heavy weighted works.  At the meeting, All counselor were introduced one by one with their own yearly project on the board using power point work. 
For morning meeting, school requested parents to bring some drinks and fruit, and bread before the meeting day through e-mail communication. Most meetings in school usually relay on the parents' aids voluntarily before the meeting by school-parents communication letter using e-mail. Even if there is no aid at all, school doesn't prepare itself.
