PTSA is abbrevigation for "Parents, Teachers, Students Association, and it raises school funding from its member, parents, teachers, students, and their families. The funds is divided in 3 categories, $ 30 for as a familiy, $ 50 for as a teacher, $ 20 for as a student. Also it accepts any money without any reason.
Box-Top is a one way of educational funding support which is run by General Mills and other companies. For example, when we buy a box of sereal made by General Mills, we can see the mark "box-top for education". we cut out the marks and save them to give our child's school. Most schools already register the program, and the school ask all students bring thier saved the marks. School encourage the students bring the Box-Tops by anouncing how many Box-Tops have been gathered by all students every 2 months or 3 months.
One of the most big event for fundraising for school is to sell or buy some magazine. All fundraisined Magazines are introduce in a pamphlet. We can buy a magazine with discounted price along with contributing raising the money for school, up to almost 80% discounted price. Some parents put the flyer about magazine sale on their community or their apt to sell them more easily.
Thomas pyle Middle School introduces local "Ledo Pizza" as a school-friendly store,
and makes some plan for all school family to buy food there for 2 nights.
For certain periods, whenever we buy something at certain stores like "Safe Way" or "Giant Food Store" within school district, we can contribute to raise fund for school. All money we spent at that store is counted, and some portion of the money goes to school. Only thing we should do is to join the store club to be a member, to buy anything, and to select the school to support.
Now what I do for fundraising is to save Box-Tops and ink carteriges. I alrealy made a check for PTSA, and joined the store club. Yesterday was "Ledo Pizza Night for Pyle". However, We have left over pizza at freezer, and we don't like pizza very much so we did not eat Ledo pizza last night.
